MCPD Reports School Threats, Auto Thefts, and Road Rage Incident in April 15 Crime Summary

Montgomery County police reported several incidents across multiple districts on April 15, 2026, including school-related threats, auto thefts, and a road rage incident involving a firearm.

In the 1st District, which covers areas including Rockville and surrounding communities, a suspicious person incident was reported at Maryvale Elementary School when a student was approached by an unknown man in a parked vehicle who gestured for the student to get inside. The student did not comply and reported the incident. Later that evening, a school threat was reported in the 14800 block of Botany Way after a threatening social media post was brought to police by a student’s family.

In the 3rd District, which includes parts of Silver Spring and nearby neighborhoods, two separate auto thefts were reported. One occurred overnight in the 3300 block of Tapestry Circle, and another was reported in the 15000 block of Pine Top Lane. Additionally, tires were stolen from a vehicle in the 12500 block of Winexburg Manor Drive, with the vehicle left resting on crates.

In the 5th District, covering Germantown and surrounding areas, a school threat was reported at John T. Baker Middle School after a student received a threatening message from another student.

In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, an auto theft was reported in the 9400 block of Quill Place. Police also responded to a road rage incident at South Frederick Avenue and West Deer Park Road, where a suspect exited his vehicle, pointed a handgun at another driver, and made threats before leaving the area. Later that night, a residential burglary was reported on Prism Place, where a home was entered and property was taken.

These incidents represent a portion of the calls for service handled by Montgomery County police on that date.
