April 17 Daily Crime Summary: Burglaries, Auto Thefts, and Assaults Reported

Montgomery County Police have released a summary of reported incidents from April 17, 2026, outlining several crimes across multiple districts.

In the 1st District, which covers Rockville and surrounding areas, a commercial burglary was reported in the 800 block of E. Gude Dr. at 7:26pm on April 16. Police say a business was burglarized during the evening hours, with entry made and property taken. Earlier that afternoon, between 2:56pm and 3:22pm, a robbery occurred at a business in the 200 block of E. Middle Ln., where a suspect took property before leaving the scene.

In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring and nearby communities, an auto theft was reported on Sheffield Manor Ct. sometime between 5pm on April 15 and April 16. A vehicle was stolen from a residential area during that timeframe.

In the 4th District, covering Wheaton and surrounding areas, multiple incidents were reported. An auto theft occurred between 5am and 7am on April 16 in the 4000 block of Gannon Rd. Later that day at 6:02pm, an aggravated assault took place at a commercial location in the 4300 block of Randolph Rd. during an altercation.

In the 5th District, which serves Germantown and Clarksburg, a commercial burglary was reported at 4:42am on April 17 in the 18300 block of Leaman Farm Rd., where entry was made and property was taken. Additionally, an auto theft was reported at 1:38pm on April 16 in the 21400 block of Woodfield Rd.

In the 6th District, covering Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, an aggravated assault was reported at 2:46pm on April 16 in the 1200 block of Main St. Police say the incident involved individuals known to each other and was later reported at a school.
