Montgomery County police are advising drivers to avoid northbound Georgia Avenue near Windham Lane in Wheaton following a two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance Saturday afternoon.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the collision at 2:21pm. One adult woman was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
Police said the ambulance involved was not transporting anyone at the time of the crash. As of 3:18pm, northbound Georgia Avenue remains closed in the area and drivers are being urged to use an alternate route and expect delays.
