MCPD Reports Thefts, Robbery, and Arrests Across County in April 28 Summary

Montgomery County Police released a summary of reported calls for service across the county on April 28, 2026, highlighting a mix of thefts, robberies, and arrests.

In the 1st District, which covers Rockville and surrounding areas, officers responded to a shoplifting incident in the 12000 block of Rockville Pike around 4:15pm. Two suspects took items from a store and fled, but one was taken into custody following a foot chase.

In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Potomac, multiple thefts were reported. A scooter was stolen from a parking lot in the 5000 block of Bradley Boulevard between 10am and 12pm with no signs of forced entry. Later that evening around 8:28pm, a suspect entered a delivery driver’s running vehicle in the 11300 block of Schuylkill Road and drove off.

In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, two separate vehicle thefts were reported with no signs of forced entry. One occurred in the 9700 block of Mt. Pisgah Road between 8pm on April 27 and 7:50am on April 28. Another took place in a parking lot in the 11700 block of Old Columbia Pike between 12pm on April 27 and 10am on April 28. A robbery involving a firearm was also reported around 5:25pm in the 11700 block of Carriage House Drive, where two armed suspects stole shoes from two victims.

In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton and Glenmont, officers responded to an incident at Albert Einstein High School around 12:56pm. Suspects assaulted a victim and stole an e-scooter, and one suspect was detained.

In the 5th District, which covers Germantown and Clarksburg, a shoplifting incident in the 19700 block of Germantown Road around 7:30pm resulted in an arrest.

In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a suspect was arrested after taking a vehicle from a parking lot in the 300 block of Metropolitan Grove Road around 7:42am. Police say the suspect found a key before stealing the car.
