Six Ways to Sunday Brings Cantonese-Thai Fusion to Bethesda

Six Ways to Sunday, a new Sino-Siamese gastropub offering Cantonese-Thai fusion, is now open at 8003 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda.

The restaurant takes over the longtime former home of Satsuma, which closed in late 2022 after 14 years in business. According to the restaurant, Six Ways to Sunday blends modern Chinese and Thai cuisine with the atmosphere of a gastropub. The concept was founded by six individuals, each bringing their own background and expertise to the project.

The kitchen is led by Chef Lekki Limvatana, who is Thai-Hainanese and known for The FAT NOMADS food truck, and Chef Satang Ruangsangwatana, who is Thai-Cantonese. Their culinary journey began with the Southeast Asian street food truck in Kensington.

The team has also been behind DC’s Thai Supperclub and served as chef consultants at Bar Chinois in Mount Vernon, while also helping shape the food at SURA in Dupont Circle. The menu is not yet available on the restaurant’s website.
