Montgomery County Police shared its daily crime summary for May 7, 2026, detailing reported incidents across the county, including multiple vehicle thefts, catalytic converter thefts and a burglary at an elementary school.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac and surrounding areas, a vehicle was stolen from the street in the 500 block of College Parkway between 7pm Tuesday, May 5 and 12pm Thursday, May 7. Officers also responded to a commercial burglary in the 1600 block of Research Boulevard after a glass entry door at a commercial building was found shattered between 3pm Wednesday and 9am Thursday, though nothing appeared to be stolen. Five catalytic converter thefts were also reported, including incidents in the 11200 block of Green Watch Way, 1000 block of Willowleaf Way, 17 Dufief Court, 14400 block of Rich Branch Drive and 14400 block of Pebble Hill Lane.
In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring and Kensington, vehicles were reported stolen from a parking lot in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard, from a parking lot overnight in the 9200 block of Piney Branch Road, from a parking garage in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue and from a parking lot overnight in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane.
Police also reported a burglary Thursday morning at Glen Haven Elementary School in the 10900 block of Inwood Avenue. According to MCPD, a suspect pushed past a teacher and entered the school during morning drop-off around 7:05am. Officers responded and detained the suspect inside the building.
In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a motorcycle was reported stolen from a driveway in the 18500 block of Mountain Laurel Terrace Thursday afternoon.
