Road Rage Gun Incident, Auto Thefts Included in MCPD Daily Crime Summary for May 25

Montgomery County Police released its latest daily crime summary, highlighting a series of reported incidents across the county, including multiple vehicle thefts, aggravated assaults, and a commercial burglary.

According to MCPD, the report is “an overview of reported calls for service from May 26, 2026.” Among the incidents included in the summary was an aggravated assault inside a shelter bathroom area in the 11600 block of Nebel Street in Rockville. Police say the victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. A suspect was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.

Another aggravated assault involved a rideshare driver near Flower Avenue and Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. According to police, the passenger displayed a handgun and ordered the driver to continue driving before the victim escaped on foot. The suspect fled the area.

Police also reported a road rage incident involving a firearm in the 12700 block of Robindale Drive in Silver Spring. Investigators say one driver pointed a handgun at another motorist before leaving the scene. No arrest has been made.

The report also included several vehicle thefts across multiple districts, including incidents in Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring, Germantown, and Montgomery Village. In one case, a vehicle was stolen after the owner accidentally left the keys inside in the 13400 block of Daventry Way.

Police additionally reported a juvenile suspect forced entry into a community center at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Hampshire Green Lane in Silver Spring. The suspect was identified and charges are pending.

MCPD noted that the summary “does not reflect all calls for service on the referenced date.”
