Multiple auto thefts across Montgomery County, along with an armed theft at a Rockville Pike business and a residential burglary in Gaithersburg, were included in MCPD’s daily crime summary for May 27, 2026.
In the 1st District, which covers areas including Rockville and parts of North Bethesda, officers responded to an overnight auto theft from a parking garage in the 100 block of Halpine Road between 8pm on May 26 and 7am on May 27. Later that night at approximately 10:24pm, two suspects entered the Burlington store in the 12000 block of Rockville Pike, with one displaying a handgun while the suspects filled bags with merchandise before fleeing. Officers also investigated a catalytic converter theft from a vehicle in the 4800 block of Chevy Chase Drive between 7pm on May 26 and 10am on May 27.
In the 2nd District, which covers areas including Bethesda and Chevy Chase, a motorcycle was reported stolen from a parking lot in the 11100 block of Cedarwood Drive between 6pm on May 26 and 7:38am on May 27. Officers also investigated a vehicle theft in the 4900 block of Crescent Street between 11:30pm on May 26 and 6:30am on May 27. The vehicle was later recovered in Washington, DC, and no arrests have been made.
In the 3rd District, which covers areas including Silver Spring and Burtonsville, officers responded to an overnight vehicle theft from a parking lot in the 13200 block of Conductor Way between 8pm on May 26 and 7am on May 27.
In the 4th District, which covers areas including Wheaton, Aspen Hill, and Glenmont, a vehicle was reported stolen in the 13700 block of Marianna Drive between 8pm on May 26 and 8am on May 27.
In the 6th District, which covers areas including Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, officers investigated a vehicle theft from a business in the 19200 block of Chennault Way that occurred between 2:30am and 3am on May 27. Later that afternoon at approximately 2:33pm, officers responded to a residential burglary in the 200 block of Lazy Hollow Drive after a suspect entered a home and fled when confronted by the resident.
