Residential Burglary, Robbery and Auto Thefts Reported in May 28 Crime Summary

Montgomery County Police Department shared the following daily crime summary highlighting reported incidents from May 28, 2026.

In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Kensington, officers reported a residential burglary in the 1900 block of East West Highway. The incident occurred sometime between 1pm on May 22 and May 28. Police said a residence was burglarized while unoccupied and property was stolen. The district also saw two vehicle thefts. A vehicle was stolen at approximately 2:32am in the 11200 block of Waycross Way after the victim was alerted by noises outside, while another vehicle was reported stolen between 12:30am and 4:30am from the 6400 block of Rock Forest Drive.

In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring and Takoma Park, police reported a vehicle theft from a parking area in the 1600 block of St. Camillus Drive. The theft occurred sometime between May 19 and May 28. Officers also investigated a commercial burglary in the 11500 block of February Circle, where suspects entered a maintenance room at a residential complex and stole property.

The district additionally reported a robbery at approximately 9:45pm in the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive in downtown Silver Spring. According to MCPD, multiple suspects confronted a victim and forcibly took property. Several suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.

Two additional vehicle thefts were reported in the 3rd District. One occurred in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane between 5:30pm on May 27 and an unknown time on May 28, while another was reported in the 9600 block of Sutherland Road between 11pm on May 27 and an unknown time on May 28. In both cases, vehicles were stolen overnight from residential areas.

MCPD noted that the daily crime summary does not reflect all calls for service received on the referenced date.
