Koala Kreme has shared that it plans to open in The Square in approximately two weeks, according to a social media post shared this week.
The new dessert shop is taking over the former Marble Slab Creamery space at 100 Gibbs Street, Unit I, in The Square at Rockville. Marble Slab Creamery operated at the location for more than a decade before closing permanently in September 2025. The Rockville store was the brand’s only Maryland location.
In April, we first reported that Koala Kreme had signed a lease for the space and was preparing to bring a new frozen dessert concept to Town Square. According to the recent announcement, customers can expect premium frozen yogurt, açaí bowls, fresh waffles, crepes, milkshakes, and hundreds of topping combinations.
The business is also teasing grand opening giveaways, free samples, and special offers as it prepares to welcome its first customers.
