The Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily crime summary for incidents reported on June 2, 2026. The report includes armed robberies, burglaries, vehicle thefts, and several arrests across multiple police districts.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac, Derwood, and surrounding communities, officers reported an armed robbery involving a knife at approximately 5:30pm at a 7-Eleven in the 200 block of Derwood Circle. According to police, a suspect was confronted by employees while concealing merchandise inside a coat. The suspect then pulled a knife and grabbed an employee’s phone before fleeing. The phone was later recovered nearby.
In the 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, and surrounding areas, a commercial burglary was reported at approximately 11am in the 6500 block of Rock Spring Drive. Employees encountered a group of juveniles inside the building and escorted them out. An office on an upper floor was later discovered ransacked.
Several incidents were reported in the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, Burtonsville, Fairland, and surrounding communities. Two vehicles were stolen from the 1200 block of Kathryn Road and the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way. Police also reported the recovery of a stolen vehicle following a pursuit by Park Police near Colesville Road and University Boulevard. The vehicle crashed into a median, and four juveniles were arrested after attempting to flee on foot.
Also in the 3rd District, a suspect was arrested shortly after midnight on June 3 following a theft from a work van in the 9000 block of Walden Road. Police said the suspect broke a window and stole property from the vehicle.
A separate armed robbery involving a handgun was reported in the 3rd District at approximately 9pm in the 12300 block of Featherwood Drive. According to police, a suspect emerged from bushes and robbed a man at gunpoint before fleeing the area.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Glenmont, and surrounding neighborhoods, a vehicle was stolen overnight from a parking lot on Normandy Square Court. Officers also responded to a reported burglary at St. Jude School in the 4800 block of Walbridge Street. A maintenance worker observed a man wandering through hallways and entering a classroom. Nothing was reported stolen, and the individual was escorted off campus.
The 4th District also saw a strong-arm robbery at approximately 9:19pm near Bucknell Drive and Cambridge Park Court. Police said a man was approached from behind by a group of suspects, knocked to the ground, and repeatedly punched and kicked before personal property was stolen. The victim was transported to a hospital with head injuries.
In the 5th District, which serves Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus, Montgomery Village, and surrounding communities, officers reported a robbery at approximately 5:18pm at the McDonald’s in the 12900 block of Middlebrook Road. Police said a preteen girl was chased by a man, struck in the leg, and had cash stolen before the suspect fled.
