MCPD Daily Crime Summary For June 3 Includes Stabbing Arrest, Restaurant Burglary, Multiple Vehicle Thefts

Montgomery County Police released its daily crime summary highlighting several incidents reported on June 3 and early June 4, including a stabbing at the Glenmont Metro Station, a commercial burglary in Silver Spring, and multiple vehicle thefts across the county.

In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill, and surrounding communities, officers responded to a stabbing at approximately 1:49am Thursday at the Glenmont Metro Station in the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue. Police said officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds on the sidewalk. The suspect was apprehended while fleeing from the station, and the victim was transported to a hospital. One arrest was made.

Also in the 4th District, a catalytic converter theft was reported Wednesday evening in the 10500 block of Bounty Cove Court.

In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, Burtonsville, Fairland, White Oak, and Briggs Chaney, suspects shattered the front glass window of Langano Ethiopian Restaurant in the 8300 block of Georgia Avenue between 1:50am and 1:52am Thursday. Police said property was stolen before the suspects fled the scene.

The 3rd District also saw a theft from a vehicle in the 100 block of Colony Road, where a vehicle window was broken and an airbag was stolen. In addition, two vehicles were reported stolen from the 13600 block of Colgate Way. One of the stolen vehicles was later recovered in Laurel.

In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Darnestown, and surrounding areas, investigators arrested two juveniles after recovering a stolen vehicle taken from a parking lot in the 300 block of West Side Drive. Police said detectives surveilled the vehicle and followed it to a business in Kentlands, where the arrests were made.

Two additional vehicle thefts were reported in the 6th District. One occurred in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road, while another vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 400 block of Quince Orchard Road.
