MCPD Reports Shooting, Robbery, School Threats In June 10 Crime Summary

Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily crime summary highlighting reported incidents from Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Among the incidents reported were two separate school threat investigations, a shooting in Glenmont, a robbery in Germantown, an aggravated assault involving a knife in Silver Spring, and multiple vehicle thefts across the county.

In the 1st District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, Potomac, and parts of Rockville, police investigated a school threat at Thomas S. Wootton High School after a student reported that another student threatened to harm them. The incident was reported around noon at the school on Wootton Parkway.

In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring and surrounding communities, officers reported three vehicle thefts in Rockville and Silver Spring. Police also arrested a man following an aggravated assault at the DoubleTree Hotel on Georgia Avenue. According to MCPD, a security officer asked the man to leave for trespassing when the suspect allegedly swung a knife at him before fleeing. No injuries were reported.

In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill, and surrounding areas, officers responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle shortly after 2pm. Police said a man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a hospital.

A second school threat was reported at Newport Mill Middle School, where a student allegedly made threatening statements about the school. Officers also investigated the theft of a vehicle from a driveway in the 12500 block of Feldon Street.

In the 5th District, which covers Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus, and Montgomery Village, police reported a stolen vehicle that was later recovered by its owner at a nearby shopping center. Officers also investigated the theft of an electric dirt bike after a prospective buyer allegedly took the bike during a test ride and never returned.

In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, and surrounding communities, officers reported a vehicle theft from the Costco parking lot on Russell Avenue. Police also investigated a robbery on Mills Choice Road, where a group of suspects allegedly followed a man into his apartment building, took his jacket, and fled. The victim suffered a minor injury.

Also in the 6th District, officers are investigating a hate/bias vandalism incident at the Lakelands Community Association. According to MCPD, two antisemitic symbols were spray-painted on playground equipment.

MCPD noted that the daily crime summary reflects selected reported incidents and does not include all calls for service received on June 10.
