The following is a brief summary of events by Montgomery County Police regarding a fatal collision involving two motorcycles at the intersection of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way in Rockville.
“At approximately 1:16 a.m., 4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving two motorcycles.
The preliminary investigation indicates that two Honda motorcycles were traveling together westbound on Norbeck Road when they made contact with one another, causing both riders to lose control of their motorcycles.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male motorcyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. The adult male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The second motorcyclist, who was traveling with the decedent, remained on scene and was uninjured in the collision.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatality. A news release will be issued when more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.”
