Police Report Fatal Collision, Hate/Bias Incidents And Auto Thefts In June 22 Summary

Montgomery County Police shared the following overview of reported calls for service and significant incidents from Monday, June 22, 2026.

1st District (Rockville, Gaithersburg, Damascus, Clarksburg and Germantown): Officers investigated a hate/bias vandalism incident at approximately 9:17am at E.E. Halmos Park in the 16900 block of Hoskinson Road. An antisemitic symbol was drawn in chalk on a pickleball court, and other court and play surfaces were also marked.

2nd District (Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Kensington): A fatal collision occurred at approximately 5:31pm in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive. Police say a single vehicle struck a barricade inside a parking garage. The adult female driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while an adult male passenger was transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

3rd District (Silver Spring and Takoma Park): A residential burglary was reported at approximately 4:05pm in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard. According to police, a man kicked in the front door of an apartment while the resident was eating dinner inside. The suspect entered the apartment but fled after being seen by the resident. Nothing was reported stolen.

5th District (Wheaton, Olney and Aspen Hill): Officers recovered a stolen vehicle and made two arrests after an auto theft that occurred between 11pm on June 21 and 7am on June 22 in the 19300 block of Circle Gate Drive. Police also investigated a hate/bias incident at approximately 4:24pm in the parking lot of Giant Food in the 20900 block of Frederick Road. A man and his father were nearly struck by a vehicle before the driver allegedly stopped, yelled a racial slur at them and drove away.

6th District (Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg East): Police are investigating two separate vehicle thefts. One vehicle was stolen from a driveway in the unit block of Marketree Court between 6pm on June 21 and 10am on June 22. A second vehicle was stolen overnight from the 8700 block of Ravenglass Way between 9pm on June 21 and 7:30am on June 22.
