Montgomery County Police released its daily crime summary for incidents reported on June 23, 2026, highlighting several cases across multiple police districts, including a hate/bias vandalism incident, vehicle thefts, and a series of airbag thefts.
In the 1st District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase, North Bethesda, Potomac, and parts of Rockville, officers investigated a hate/bias vandalism case in the 5900 block of Montrose Road. Between 8:30am and 10pm, an apartment door was vandalized and a note containing discriminatory language was left behind.
In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, Burtonsville, White Oak, Fairland, and surrounding communities, police reported an airbag theft from a vehicle parked near Tahona Drive and Quebec Street. The theft occurred sometime between June 22 and 8am on June 23. Officers also responded to an auto theft in the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike at approximately 3:25pm. According to police, a vehicle was stolen after keys were taken from another nearby vehicle.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill, Kemp Mill, and Olney, officers reported an auto theft in the 13200 block of Superior Street shortly after midnight on June 24. Police also investigated a theft-from-vehicle incident in the 11100 block of Bucknell Drive at approximately 2:35am, where three vehicles had their windows broken and airbags stolen.
