Survey Work To Begin July 13 For Rockville Water Main Rehabilitation Project

Residents in neighborhoods along Rockville Pike between West Edmonston Drive and Congressional Lane may notice survey crews working in the area beginning the week of Monday, July 13, as the City of Rockville moves forward with its Water Main Rehabilitation Program.

The field surveying marks the first phase of the project, which is designed to improve aging water infrastructure. Water main rehabilitation projects are completed in three phases: field survey, design, and construction.

After underground utilities have been marked, engineering firm Hazen and Sawyer, along with its subconsultant Charles P. Johnson and Associates, will conduct the survey work on behalf of the City of Rockville’s Department of Public Works. Residents can expect to see survey crews, vehicles, and equipment in neighborhoods throughout the project area during this phase.

Construction is currently planned for Fiscal Year 2027, which began on July 1, 2026. The City of Rockville has already mailed a neighborhood advisory to addresses near the project area and plans to send another advisory before construction begins. Residents with questions about the project can contact Project Manager Gina Arnett at 240-314-8517 or by email at [email protected].
