Montgomery County Police have released their daily crime summary, highlighting reported incidents from June 29, 2026.
The 1st District, which covers Rockville and parts of Derwood and North Bethesda, reported an auto theft from a parking lot in the 14100 block of Arbor Forest Drive. Officers also investigated an attempted residential burglary in the 8100 block of Whites Ford Way after someone removed a screen and broke the glass on a home’s door but was unable to get through the locked inner door. In the 600 block of Blandford Street, police responded to a vacant apartment where someone had been entering without permission. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was reported stolen.
The 2nd District, which serves Bethesda, Chevy Chase and surrounding communities, reported an armed carjacking in the 7000 block of Arlington Road. According to police, a man posing as a customer during a test drive pulled out a handgun, ordered the salesperson out of the vehicle and drove away. Officers also investigated an auto theft in the 10400 block of Montrose Avenue.
The 3rd District, covering Silver Spring, reported two overnight vehicle thefts. One occurred in the 8200 block of Garland Avenue, while the other was reported in the 500 block of Southampton Drive after a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot.
The 4th District, which serves Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Kensington and surrounding areas, reported an aggravated assault involving a knife in the 2200 block of Randolph Road. Police said two drivers got into a dispute following a minor collision, and one driver allegedly pulled a knife and attempted to stab the other before fleeing. The victim suffered a minor scratch.
The 5th District, covering Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, reported an overnight auto theft in the 18000 block of Cottage Garden Drive and the theft of a motorcycle in the 11500 block of Apperson Way. Officers also made a weapons offense arrest during a traffic stop at Germantown Road and Clopper Road after locating a loaded handgun inside a vehicle.
The 6th District, which serves Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and surrounding areas, investigated a commercial burglary at an apartment complex maintenance shop in the 800 block of Rockwell Avenue, where several items were stolen. Officers also responded to a commercial armed robbery in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road after a man allegedly attempted to leave a store without paying, then displayed a knife and threatened an employee before fleeing. Two additional vehicle thefts were reported in the 800 block of Quince Orchard Boulevard and the unit block of Prism Place.
