Montgomery County Police said an adult male from Germantown was arrested Monday night after officers recovered a loaded ghost gun during a traffic stop in Germantown.
According to police, officers assigned to the 5th District evening shift conducted the traffic stop near the intersection of Germantown Road and Clopper Road. During the stop, officers determined the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.
Police said a K9 unit responded to the scene and alerted to the vehicle. Officers then searched the vehicle and recovered a loaded Polymer80 (PMF P80) handgun, commonly referred to as a ghost gun because it is privately made and generally lacks a serial number.
The driver was arrested, transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, and charged. Police did not release the suspect’s identity or provide additional information about the charges.
