Takoma Park Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning in the 400 block of Belford Place. According to police, officers responded to the area at approximately 2:48am on July 2 after receiving a report of a robbery.
The victim told officers he was delivering food on a green electric bicycle when he was approached by two unknown male suspects who demanded the bicycle. One suspect was described as wearing all black with a black ski mask, while the second suspect was dressed entirely in white.
During the robbery, the suspect wearing black implied he was armed by making a gesture toward his waistband. Although the victim never saw a firearm, he believed the suspect was indicating he had a handgun.
The suspects fled with the victim’s electric bicycle and a phone charger. Responding officers searched the area but were unable to locate them. A lookout was issued to surrounding law enforcement agencies.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Takoma Park Police Department at 301-270-1100 and reference case #260029077.
