The Takoma Park Police Department has released video footage from the officer-involved shooting that occurred on July 1, 2026, in Takoma Park.
The release includes body-worn camera video from the involved officer, in-car dash camera footage, and home security video capturing the moments leading up to the shooting. According to police, the videos show the suspect attempting to strike the officer with a stolen vehicle. The officer then fired a single shot at the vehicle.
No officers were injured during the incident, and no bystanders were harmed. Police identified the involved officer as Officer Samuel Brownlee, who has served with the Takoma Park Police Department since September 2024 and is assigned to the Patrol Operations Division.
