The Montgomery County Department of Police has released its daily crime summary highlighting reported incidents from July 6, 2026. The incidents include a school burglary, several vehicle thefts, thefts from vehicles, and a commercial burglary. The summary does not reflect every call for service received that day.
1st District serves Rockville and surrounding areas, including Potomac. Between Tuesday, June 30 and Saturday, July 4, someone pried open the door of a high school baseball press box in the 17500 block of W. Willard Rd. and stole equipment. In a separate incident, a vehicle was stolen from outside a school in the 600 block of Veirs Mill Rd. between 3:17pm and 3:32pm.
3rd District serves Silver Spring, Burtonsville, Fairland, White Oak, and Briggs Chaney. Three vehicle thefts were reported. A vehicle was stolen overnight from a parking lot in the 3400 block of Gateshead Manor Way between Sunday at 9pm and Monday at 9am. Another vehicle was stolen in the 3700 block of Lamberton Square Rd. between Saturday at 2pm and Monday at 10:30am. A third vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 13800 block of Outlet Dr. sometime between Friday, June 26 and Monday, July 6. At 5:57pm, a dirt bike was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 12600 block of Montclair Dr. Between Sunday at 11pm and Monday at 7:45am, all four tires and rims were stolen from a vehicle in the 8000 block of Newell St. A catalytic converter was also stolen from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Elton Rd. between Saturday, July 4 at 7pm and Monday, July 6 at 9:16am.
6th District serves Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village, North Potomac, Germantown, Clarksburg, and Damascus. At 3:29am Tuesday, two people broke the front glass of a vape shop in the unit block of N. Summit Ave., stole property from behind the counter, and left shortly afterward.
