Marathon Deli has been a hit since opening its Kensington location at 10619 Connecticut Ave. in May, and now the family-owned restaurant is expanding its offerings with an authentic Greek bakery (now open) and an upcoming breakfast menu coming soon.
Owner George Soldatos told The MoCoShow the restaurant has added a Greek bakery inside the existing space, where customers will be able to purchase a wide variety of traditional Greek desserts and baked goods. The bakery will feature authentic Greek pastries, cakes, and desserts, including custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions, along with a broad selection of traditional Greek sweets.
In addition, Marathon Deli is preparing to launch breakfast service, which will soon be available daily from 7am to 11am. Additional details about the breakfast menu are expected soon.
Marathon Deli celebrated the grand opening of its Kensington location at 10619 Connecticut Avenue in the Crossroads at Kensington shopping center back in May. Founded in 1972, Marathon Deli has built a loyal following over more than five decades as a College Park institution, known for its authentic Greek specialties and classic deli favorites, including gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita, baklava, and its signature Marathon fries.
