In a press release issued Wednesday, July 15, Montgomery County Police asked for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a hate bias assault that occurred earlier this year in Silver Spring.
According to detectives with the 4th District Investigative Section, the assault happened on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at approximately 10:35am aboard a Ride On bus near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Randolph Road.
Police describe the suspect as an adult male with a beard who was wearing a head kufi, black clothing, and carrying a dark-colored backpack. After the assault, the suspect left the scene.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident is asked to submit a tip through Crime Solvers of Montgomery County by visiting the Crime Solvers website and clicking the P3 Tips link, or by calling 1-866-411-8477. Tips may remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward ranging from $250 to $10,000.
