Ted’s Montana Grill Replacement Signs On in Downtown Crown

Hawkers Asian Street Fare has signed a lease to take over the 5,228 SF space that was home to Ted’s Montana Grill at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg.

Ted’s Montana Grill closed in January after serving the Gaithersburg community for more than a decade. Hawkers will become the latest restaurant to join the mixed-use development and will mark the brand’s second Montgomery County location, following the opening of its Bethesda restaurant in 2020.

Hawkers Asian Street Fare first opened in Orlando in 2011 and has since expanded to cities across Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, and beyond. According to the restaurant, the name “hawkers” refers to the street vendors found throughout Asia who prepare fresh dishes using locally sourced ingredients from mobile carts and market stalls.

The restaurant’s menu draws inspiration from street food across Asia, featuring recipes passed down through the founders’ families for generations. An opening timeframe has not yet been announced.
