Montgomery County Police 1st District officers and Gaithersburg Police are on the scene of a crash involving a stolen vehicle near Quince Orchard Rd. and MD 28 following a brief pursuit.
According to preliminary information, the vehicle was reported stolen during an armed carjacking in Washington, D.C. Officers located the vehicle in Gaithersburg and attempted a traffic stop before the driver fled, leading to a short pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed.
Two suspects have been taken into custody. One suspect was tased during the incident and is being transported to a local hospital. Police also recovered a firearm at the scene. No officers or bystanders were injured. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
