Update: One Dead, Seven Juveniles Injured in Serious Crash on Clopper Road in Germantown

A serious two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning at the intersection of Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway in Germantown left one person dead and seven juveniles injured, according to Montgomery County Police.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to the crash, which initially involved reports of an overturned vehicle, entrapment, and up to seven patients. Firefighters and paramedics worked to stabilize the vehicles, extricate trapped occupants, provide emergency medical care, and transport patients to area hospitals.

Montgomery County Police later confirmed that the crash involved two vehicles with a total of eight people. An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. The seven occupants of the second vehicle, all juveniles between the ages of 12 and 15, were transported to area hospitals with varying injuries. Police said two of the juveniles are in critical condition.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes as the investigation continues. Significant traffic delays are expected while emergency crews remain on scene.
