Roggenart European Bakery, Bistro & Café is returning to Montgomery County with a new location in Rockville (near Derwood).
The bakery and café will take over the former Starbucks space at 8010 Gramercy Blvd. at The Daley at Shady Grove. Tennant Commercial Advisors announced the upcoming location in May, saying it helped Roggenart identify and secure the space.
Starbucks closed the location in September 2025 as part of a wave of closures that saw five of the coffee chain’s Montgomery County locations shut their doors. The Gramercy Boulevard Starbucks, which had operated at the development for several years, served its final customers on September 27.
The opening will mark Roggenart’s return to Montgomery County after more than a decade. The bakery previously operated at 806 Muddy Branch Rd. in Muddy Branch Square in Gaithersburg. That space is now home to LumThai.
Roggenart describes itself as a European bakery, bistro and café, offering European-style pastries, breads, sandwiches, breakfast items and other café fare. An opening date for the new Rockville location has not yet been announced.
