The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) released an overview of reported calls for service from August 13, 2026, which included multiple catalytic converter thefts, auto thefts, a robbery and burglaries across the county.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville, Potomac and parts of North Bethesda, catalytic converters were stolen from two vehicles in the 5500 block of Wilkins Ct. at approximately 3:22am.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, Takoma Park, White Oak and surrounding areas, a catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Manchester Rd. and Manchester Pl. sometime between 5pm Wednesday and 7:40am Thursday. At approximately 12:57pm, a man was assaulted and had property taken in the area of New Hampshire Ave. and Eldrid Dr. Police said three juveniles were taken into custody in connection with the robbery. Later that evening, at approximately 7:12pm, a vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 3300 block of Teagarden Cir.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Glenmont and Olney, police reported a catalytic converter stolen from a vehicle in the 12700 block of Valleywood Dr. sometime between August 9 and August 10. A vehicle was also reported stolen from the 2300 block of Georgian Woods Pl. at approximately 7:35am.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg and surrounding areas, someone entered a garage in the 11900 block of Chestnut Branch Way and stole a vehicle parked inside. The incident occurred sometime between 6pm Wednesday and 8am Thursday.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a lock was cut from a storage unit in the 8500 block of Snouffer School Rd. and property was taken at approximately 2:55pm.
