Mother and Child Seriously Injured in Rockville Collision

Update: According to MCPD, the adult woman struck by a vehicle near Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway has died after being transported to an area hospital. A child who was also struck was transported with non-life-threatening injuries
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving two pedestrians near Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway at approximately 8:25pm.

According to MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer, a mother and young child were struck in the collision, and the vehicle slid onto an embankment.

Both pedestrians were transported to an area trauma center with Priority 1 trauma (life-threatening) injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
