The Montgomery County Department of Police shared an overview of reported calls for service from August 25, 2026. The summary does not reflect every call for service received that day.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, North Bethesda and surrounding areas, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 8300 block of 16th St between 9pm Monday and 10am Tuesday. A motorcycle was also taken from the 8900 block of Lanier Dr between 1am and 11am Tuesday. At approximately 4:08pm, runners on the Capital Crescent Trail reported being chased by an individual near the 4700 block of Bethesda Ave.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, White Oak, Colesville, Burtonsville and surrounding areas, a vehicle was taken from the 9700 block of Mt. Pisgah Rd between 9pm Monday and 6:45am Tuesday.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and surrounding areas, property was taken during a residential burglary in the 17800 block of Washington Grove Ln. The burglary was reported Tuesday and occurred sometime between Thursday, August 20, and Saturday, August 22. Two vehicles were also reported stolen, including one from the 8100 block of Chelaberry Ct and another from the 18100 block of Royal Bonnet Cir.
