The Washington Spirit will host its first-ever Hello Kitty Day on Sunday, August 30, when the club faces Bay FC at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:30pm.
The collaboration will feature Hello Kitty-themed activities and promotions centered on friendship, community and D.C. pride. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a reversible “Spirit in Bloom” Hello Kitty bucket hat. Additional activities will include a coloring and friendship bracelet station on the concourse and a photo opportunity at the Hello Kitty-branded SPIRIT letters in Spiritville.
During the match, fans will have an opportunity to participate in Hello Kitty trivia and appear with their friends on the stadium video board during a Friendship Cam segment.
“Hello Kitty Day is exactly the kind of experience we love bringing to our fans at Audi Field and we’re so thrilled to break ground for the club with such a unique partnership,” said Washington Spirit Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Kim Bolt. “Something that brings in longtime fans and gives new ones a reason to come to a match for the first time. Friendship and community are at the heart of our club, so this collaboration felt like a natural fit.”
