Dunkin’/Baskin-Robbins will celebrate its grand opening at 898 Muddy Branch Rd in Gaithersburg on Saturday, September 19, from 9am-11am, with a free coffee giveaway, discounted treats and family activities.
The celebration will include a ribbon cutting at 9:45am, followed by a “Free Coffee for a Year” giveaway for the first 100 guests ages 18 and older beginning at 10am. According to the promotional flyer, recipients will receive a coupon book containing four free medium hot or iced coffee coupons per month for 14 months, valid only at this location. There is a limit of one giveaway booklet per guest.
Additional activities will include music, free samples, a Dunkin’ mascot appearance, a face painter, balloon twister, prize wheel and Dunkin’ swag, while supplies last. Baskin-Robbins will offer $2 single scoops on September 19. A separate Dunkin’ coupon advertises $2 medium hot or iced coffee that day, excluding cold brew and nitro cold brew. The coffee offer requires presenting the coupon at the time of purchase and is not valid on mobile app or delivery orders.
The combined location opened Monday, August 10, in the former Starbucks space at Muddy Branch Square. It features Dunkin’s lineup of coffee, breakfast items, baked goods and donuts alongside a full Baskin-Robbins ice cream counter. The store also includes Baskin-Robbins’ “The Cakery,” offering ice cream cakes and other take-home desserts.
The former Starbucks closed in September 2025 as part of a nationwide restructuring effort that resulted in the closure of five Montgomery County locations.
