The Montgomery County Police Department shared an overview of reported calls for service from Thursday, September 10. MCPD noted that the summary does not reflect all calls for service on the referenced date.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville and Potomac, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 12300 block of Wilkins Ave sometime between 6pm Wednesday and 8:30am Thursday.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda and Chevy Chase, a vehicle was stolen from the 8800 block of Lanier Dr sometime between 2pm Wednesday and 9am Thursday. The vehicle was later recovered.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring and Burtonsville, two vehicles were stolen and later recovered. One was taken from the 8500 block of 11th Ave sometime between 7:30pm Wednesday and 4:45am Thursday. The other was taken from the 4000 block of Sparrow House Ln between 12:40am and 6am Thursday.
Police also responded to a homicide in the 1700 block of January Dr at approximately 2:05pm Thursday. A victim was found with serious injuries and pronounced dead. MCPD’s Major Crimes Division is investigating.
At approximately 9:28pm Thursday, a victim was assaulted and had property taken near Georgia Ave and Colesville Rd. Two people were taken into custody.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Olney and Aspen Hill, property was reported stolen from a home in the 1700 block of Colesberg St. The burglary occurred sometime between 9am and 2:30pm Wednesday and was reported Thursday.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown and much of the northern portion of Montgomery County, two vehicles were reported stolen. MCPD did not provide locations or additional information about those thefts.
