Chicken Salad Chick Delays Olney Grand Opening

Chicken Salad Chick has delayed the grand opening of its upcoming Olney restaurant, citing an ongoing wait for electrical power. The restaurant had been scheduled to open September 23 at 18209 Olney Village Center Dr. and is now targeting mid-October.

In an update shared with customers, the restaurant expressed frustration over the delay, saying it had hoped to have power by now and had repeatedly escalated the issue through available channels.

The owners thanked the Olney Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Councilmember Dawn Luedtke and her staff member Aaron Kraut for their assistance in trying to resolve the situation. “We WILL OPEN…just (much) later than we had hoped,” the restaurant stated.

The Olney location is taking over the former karate studio space next to Hallmark and will be operated by franchise owners Jim Schleckser and Carrie Tydings. The restaurant previously announced a week of grand opening giveaways, including a chance for the first 100 guests in line to win free chicken salad for a year. The latest announcement did not provide revised giveaway dates or confirm whether the previously announced participation details will remain the same.

Chicken Salad Chick offers a variety of signature chicken salad flavors, along with soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts. A confirmed opening date will be shared when available.
