The Montgomery County Department of Police shared an overview of reported calls for service from September 14, including incidents across several police districts. MCPD noted that the summary does not reflect all calls for service on the referenced date.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville, Potomac and portions of North Bethesda, police reported an auto theft in the 14000 block of Cove Ln. A vehicle was taken sometime between 8pm on September 13 and 6am on September 14.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, White Oak, Burtonsville and surrounding areas, police reported two airbag thefts from vehicles. One occurred in the 11100 block of Oak Leaf Dr. sometime between August 25 and 5:10am on September 15. The other occurred in the 11400 block of Lockwood Dr. between noon on September 14 and 5:30am on September 15. Police also reported an attempted commercial burglary in the 13600 block of Robey Rd., where a suspect attempted to force entry into a shed on school property. No entry was made.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus and surrounding areas, police reported an auto theft in the 11400 block of Herefordshire Way. A vehicle was taken sometime between noon on September 6 and 2pm on September 14. Police also reported a hate/bias incident in the 22400 block of Brick Haven Way, where a racial slur was written on a bookshelf at a middle school.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and surrounding areas, police reported two commercial burglaries and an auto theft. A business on Meem Ave. was broken into during an incident that occurred at approximately 9:34pm on September 12. A vehicle was taken from the 1000 block of West Side Dr. between 1:30am and 2am. Police also reported that a front door was broken with a hard object and property was taken from a business in the 400 block of S. Frederick Ave. at approximately 3am Tuesday.
