Commanders Make Multiple Roster Moves Prior to Week 2

The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves Wednesday as the team deals with injuries following its Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Washington placed linebacker Jordan Magee on the Reserve/Injured List and signed veteran guard Lucas Patrick, who can also play center. The Commanders also signed outside linebacker Marvin Jones Jr. and linebacker Austin Keys to the practice squad.

Magee suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s 24-22 loss to Philadelphia. Head coach Dan Quinn said Monday that tight end Chig Okonkwo is also dealing with a hamstring injury, while linebacker Frankie Luvu suffered a groin injury.

Luvu’s injury has been reported as a minor groin strain, though his availability for Washington’s Week 2 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys remains uncertain.

Additional information on Okonkwo’s status is expected as the Commanders begin preparations for Dallas. Washington’s first official injury report of the week should provide a clearer picture of the availability of both Okonkwo and Luvu.
