A 27-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning. According to police, at approximately 1:51am, officers responded to the area of Fisher Avenue and Milford Mill Road for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck.
According to the preliminary investigation, the pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle in the area of 19630 Fisher Avenue. The driver left the scene and has not been located.
Detectives currently believe the vehicle traveled westbound on Fisher Avenue toward Elgin Road following the collision. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the fatal collision. Authorities said additional information, including the identity of the 27-year-old man, will be released following notification of his next of kin.
