MCPD shared its daily crime summary for incidents reported on Tuesday, September 22, including an armed robbery, aggravated assault, burglaries, auto thefts and a weapons offense.
In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac and Poolesville, police reported an aggravated assault in the 16100 block of Shady Grove Rd. at 9:57pm Tuesday. According to MCPD, a suspect pointed a handgun at a victim inside a restaurant and then left the area. Police also reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the 2400 block of McCormick Rd. sometime between 8pm Sunday and 9am Monday.
In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Kensington, North Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Glen Echo, Somerset and Friendship Heights, police reported racial and antisemitic graffiti written on a bathroom wall at a high school in the 6400 block of Rock Spring Dr. The incident occurred at approximately 8:59am on September 15 and was reported Tuesday. Two vehicles were also reported stolen in the district, one from the 1900 block of Rosemary Hills Dr. and another from the 5300 block of Falmouth Rd. One was later recovered. A commercial burglary was also reported in the unit block of Wisconsin Cir., where police said a side door of a business was pried open and property was taken. One person was arrested.
In the 3rd District, which covers Silver Spring, Colesville and White Oak, police reported a vehicle stolen from the 13900 block of Castle Blvd. sometime between 10pm Monday and 6pm Tuesday. Police also reported an attempted residential burglary in the 2100 block of Harlequin Ter. at approximately 6:30pm Tuesday. According to MCPD, suspects attempted to open a locked sliding door before leaving the area.
In the 4th District, which covers Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill, Brookeville and Olney, police reported a weapons offense in the 3200 block of Weeping Willow Ct. The incident occurred sometime between 7:30pm and 11pm Sunday, September 20, and was reported Tuesday. Police said a round was fired through a floor and into the apartment below.
In the 6th District, which covers Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and Washington Grove, police reported an armed robbery in the 9800 block of Washingtonian Blvd. at 12:41pm Tuesday. According to MCPD, a victim was assaulted and threatened with knives before having property taken. Two people were arrested. Police also reported vehicle thefts from the 17600 block of Sequoia Dr. and the 100 block of N. Frederick Ave. A residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of Watkins Station Cir. at 2:57pm, where police said a suspect entered a home and confronted the victim before leaving the area.
