Montgomery County Police shared an overview of reported calls for September 23, including auto thefts, thefts of airbags, burglaries, an aggravated assault and two hate/bias incidents.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville, Poolesville and much of western Montgomery County, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 19500 block of Fisher Ave. The theft occurred sometime between 8pm Tuesday and 8am Wednesday.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Potomac, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 3800 block of Chaplin Pl. sometime between 6pm Tuesday and 10am Wednesday.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, White Oak and Burtonsville, police reported four airbag thefts. Airbags were taken from vehicles in the 11600 block of Lockwood Dr., 11400 block of July Dr., 1500 block of November Cir. and 11500 block of February Cir. Police also reported a vehicle stolen from the 14500 block of Bentley Park Dr. sometime between 2am and 4am Wednesday.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill and Olney, an airbag was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Normandy Crossing Dr. and Dinsdale Dr. sometime between 3pm Tuesday and 10am Wednesday. Police also reported an aggravated assault in the 3200 block of Hewitt Ave. at approximately 9:45pm Wednesday. According to MCPD, a victim was struck in the head with a hard object during a fight.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, property was reported stolen from a storage trailer at a business in the 6800 block of Olney Laytonsville Rd. sometime between 5pm Friday, September 18 and 7:30am Wednesday. Property was also reported stolen from a home in the 19500 block of Frederick Rd. at approximately 3:22pm Wednesday. Police additionally reported a hate/bias incident in the 12200 block of Elm Forest Ct. at approximately 6:47pm, where a racial slur was written in chalk near a pool area.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village, a vehicle was reported stolen from the unit block of Prism Pl. at approximately 7:40pm Tuesday and was later recovered. Police also reported a hate/bias incident in the 100 block of Education Blvd. at approximately 12:30pm Wednesday, where a swastika was found drawn under a desk at a high school.
