Montgomery County Police shared an overview of reported calls for September 24, including burglaries, auto thefts, an attempted robbery, a weapons offense and a hate/bias incident. MCPD notes that the summary does not reflect all calls for service on the referenced date.
In the 1st District, which includes Rockville, Potomac and parts of North Bethesda, police reported a residential burglary in the 11800 block of Enid Dr. The burglary occurred Wednesday, September 23 between 10:45 and 11:11am and was reported Thursday. Property was taken from the home and later recovered, and one person was arrested. Police also reported an attempted robbery at 10:04am Thursday in the 12100 block of Darnestown Rd., where a suspect passed a note claiming to have a gun before leaving the area. Nothing was taken.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase and parts of Silver Spring, police reported a residential burglary in the 4900 block of Hampden Ln. Two apartments were entered between noon and 12:30pm Wednesday, September 23, with property taken from one of them. An auto theft was also reported at 11:06am Thursday in the 8500 block of 16th St.
In the 3rd District, which includes Silver Spring, White Oak, Burtonsville and surrounding areas, police reported three vehicle-related incidents and a weapons offense. An airbag was stolen from a vehicle in the 11500 block of February Cir. sometime between 6pm Tuesday, September 22 and 8am Thursday. Vehicles were also reported stolen Thursday in the 14100 block of Buck Hill Ct. at 5:37pm and the 8800 block of Colesville Rd. at 5:43pm. At 10:04pm, multiple people reported hearing gunshots near Ballinger Rd. and Ballinger Ter. Police said a round struck a home, but no injuries were reported.
In the 4th District, which includes Wheaton, Glenmont, Aspen Hill and nearby areas, police reported an attempted residential burglary at 9:25am Thursday in the 12100 block of Veirs Mill Rd. According to the summary, a suspect tried to open the door of a home before leaving the area.
In the 5th District, which includes Germantown, Clarksburg, Damascus and surrounding communities, a vehicle was reported stolen from the 19900 block of Sweetgum Cir. sometime between 4pm Wednesday and 9:24am Thursday.
In the 6th District, which includes Gaithersburg, Montgomery Village and surrounding areas, police reported a hate/bias incident in the 100 block of Education Blvd. The incident occurred Wednesday and was reported Thursday. According to MCPD, an antisemitic symbol was found in a locker room at a high school.
