Washington Spirit defenders Élisabeth Tsé and forward Rosemonde Kouassi have been called up to their respective national teams for international matches this month.
Tsé has been named to the Canada Women’s National Team roster for a pair of home friendlies against Denmark. She will join Spirit teammate Gabrielle Carle on the Canadian squad.
Canada will face Denmark on Friday, October 9 at 7pm at Stade Saputo in Montréal before the teams meet again on Monday, October 12 at 3:30pm at BMO Field in Toronto.
The selection marks Tsé’s second consecutive call-up to Canada’s senior national team after making her debut in June. Before reaching the senior level, the Quebec native represented Canada in its youth national team program, including at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and 2022 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship, where Canada earned bronze.
Tsé joined the Spirit this past offseason and has appeared in 15 matches this year, totaling more than 600 minutes. She made her first start for Washington in the 2025-26 Concacaf W Champions Cup semifinal against Pachuca in May, helping the Spirit advance to the final with a 1-0 victory.
Kouassi, meanwhile, has been called up to the Ivory Coast Women’s National Team for a pair of 2028 Olympic qualifying matches against the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Ivory Coast will visit D.R. Congo on Friday, October 9 at 10am at Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi before hosting the return match on Tuesday, October 13 at 3pm at Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan.
Kouassi made her senior international debut during the 2020 CAF Women’s Olympic qualifying tournament, helping Ivory Coast reach the semifinals. Most recently, she helped the country reach the quarterfinals of this summer’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and recorded a match-winning assist during group play.
Since joining the Spirit in the summer of 2024, Kouassi has appeared in 45 matches, recording 10 goals and 12 assists. She has two goals and three assists this year, including a two-goal performance against Club América Femenil in May’s continental final.
The Spirit return to Audi Field on Saturday, October 17 against Gotham FC. The match is scheduled to kick off at 12:30pm.
