Toastique has received a permit for a $578,000 buildout of its first Montgomery County location at 5310 Western Ave. in Chevy Chase, near The Capital Grille.
The fast-casual boutique cafe specializes in gourmet toast, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices, espresso drinks and other health-focused fare. Toastique was founded in 2018 by former college athlete Brianna Keefe, who opened the brand’s first location at The Wharf in Washington, DC. The company has since expanded through franchising with locations across the Mid-Atlantic and other parts of the country.
Toastique’s menu centers around thick-cut artisanal breads with a variety of toppings. Options include the Avocado Smash with avocado, watermelon radish, marinated tomatoes, chili oil and microgreens; Smoked Salmon with pastrami-smoked salmon, herbed cream cheese, arugula, cucumber, pickled red onions and capers; and Tomato Burrata with herbed ricotta, pesto, marinated tomatoes, burrata, basil and balsamic glaze.
Other toast options include the 3-Cheese Italian, featuring prosciutto, Swiss, fontina and roasted garlic onion jam on jalapeño cheddar toast, and the PB Crunch with peanut butter, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, berry jam, granola, peanuts and honey on walnut raisin toast.
The menu also features açai, pitaya and cacao-based smoothie bowls, along with smoothies made with fruit, cold-pressed juice and nut milks. Toastique offers a selection of cold-pressed juices and wellness shots, as well as a full espresso bar with lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, Nitro Cold Brew and other specialty drinks. Grab-and-go offerings include chia seed pudding, overnight oats, protein waffles, yogurt parfaits and baked treats.
The $578,000 permit covers the buildout of the Chevy Chase space. An opening date has not yet been announced.
