NYC-Based SLT to Make Maryland Debut This Winter

SLT will make its Maryland debut on January 9 at Congressional Plaza in Rockville. The NYC-based boutique fitness studio will be located at 1643-A Rockville Pike, taking over the space most recently occupied by the Collars & Co. PopUp before its move to Wildwood Shopping Center in Bethesda.

SLT, which stands for Strengthen, Lengthen, Tone, is a boutique fitness concept known for its high-intensity, low-impact workouts using the Megaformer, a spring-loaded exercise machine. The workout utilizes the Lagree Fitness Method and is sometimes described as “Pilates on steroids.”

Classes combine elements of strength training, cardio and Pilates-style movements, with an emphasis on slow, controlled exercises performed under resistance. A typical class lasts 50 minutes and focuses heavily on the core, glutes and upper body. Grip socks are required for classes.

Founded in New York City, SLT has expanded throughout the New York Tri-State area and into additional markets. The company also offers variations of its traditional workout, including SLT Tread, which combines Megaformer exercises with treadmill intervals.

Ahead of the Rockville opening, SLT is offering introductory packages that include three classes for $60 and two weeks of unlimited classes for $99. According to its website, Regular class packages range from $39 for a single class to $620 for a 20-class package. Founding memberships, which require a six-month commitment, start at $120 per month for four classes and are also available at $224 per month for eight classes and $312 per month for 12 classes. Standard monthly memberships start at $132 for four classes, with additional options including eight classes for $240, 12 classes for $315 and unlimited classes for $365 per month.
