Sheetz has requested final site plan approval for a 4,959 square foot Sheetz retail building and accessory automobile filling station. This would be the company’s smallest location in order for it to fit within the Walnut Hill Shopping Center (16529 South Frederick Avenue) in Gaithersburg.
According to the City of Gaithersburg, the public hearing with the Planning Commission has been scheduled on October 16, 2024 in the Council Chambers at 16 South Summit Avenue. Comments on this application may either be mailed to 31 South Summit Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD, 20877 or emailed to [email protected].
Last year, the Gaithersburg City Council approved the annexation of the shopping center, which paved the way for Aldi to move in to part of the old grocery store space and a new Sheetz to be built. Aldi has taken over a little more than half of the space that was previously home to Weis, and Concentra, a nationwide leader occupational medicine, will occupy the adjacent space.
