Loaded Handgun Found in Ball Pit of Children’s Play Center

A loaded gun was discovered at a children’s indoor play center in Owings Mills on Sunday afternoon, according to Baltimore County Police.

Officers responded to the Hyper Kidz facility located in the 11400 block of Cronridge Drive shortly after 3:15 p.m. and took possession of the firearm, according to a report by The Baltimore Banner. Local restaurateur Greg Z. first shared the news via social media on Monday afternoon, writing, “Sunday afternoon a LOADED FIREARM was found in the ballpit at Hyper Kidz Owings Mills. Stay vigilant folks.”

Hyper Kidz responded to the post, writing, “As parents, this is a very concerning matter and we are grateful for the parents who turned it in shortly after it was found. We’re EXTREMELY grateful that no one was hurt. We have the full force of Law Enforcement involved in this serious matter regarding this parent’s negligence. We are committed to fully participating in their investigation.
