The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) have arrested and charged 26-year-old Abraham Luna Perez with first-degree murder in the October 22 homicide of his roommate, 19-year-old Diego Edilberto Borja-Cardona, who was found dead near a bus stop on Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.
According to MCPD, “At around 2:38 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring and found the victim in the bushes behind a bus stop, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore conducted an autopsy and determined the manner of death to be a homicide.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Luna Perez, who was roommates with Borja-Cardona, as the suspect.
On Friday, November 1, Luna Perez was arrested by MCP Investigators assigned with the US Marshals Capital Area Task Force and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with first-degree murder. He is being held without bond.”
