A Rockville woman was sentenced to six months in jail, three years of supervised probation, and ordered to pay $160,986.25 in restitution for stealing funds from Dawn Crafton Dance Connection, where she worked, after pleading guilty to a theft scheme exceeding $100,000.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Mary Beth McCormick sentenced defendant, Erin N. Kelly, 41, of Rockville, to three years incarceration suspending all but six months to serve and three years of supervised probation upon release. The judge ordered Kelly pay full restitution in the amount of $160,986.25 by February 3, 2025.
Between January 1, 2017, and May 31, 2022, Kelly stole $160, 986.25 from Dawn Crafton Dance Connection where she worked. Kelly fraudulently diverted funds from customers intended for her employer into her own personal bank account. On October 29, 2024, she pleaded guilty to theft scheme over $100,000.”
MyMCM reported in August that Kelly was an Odessa Shannon Middle School team leader for alternative programs and was the head coach of the Montgomery County Special Olympics Hip Hop Dance Crew.
