Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a toddler who fell from the 15th story of 11235 Oak Leaf Dr (The Enclave apartments) in White Oak, according to a report by DC area crime reporter Allen Henney. Miraculously, the toddler survived the fall and is alert and conscious.
On-duty Public Information Officer, Assistant Chief Daniel Ogren shared with us on Thursday afternoon that a two-year-old fell from the 15th story into bushes and mulch. “By all accounts seems to be doing pretty well. The child was alert and conscious and crying with mom. Only possible injury was a possible broken arm.”
Update– Summary of events by MCPD: “At approximately 2:11 p.m., officers from the 3rd District and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive in Silver Spring for a report of a 2-year-old who had fallen from the 15th floor of an apartment building.
Upon arrival, first responders located a 2-year-old boy who had reportedly fallen from a balcony and landed in the bushes below. The child was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.”
