A historic shopping center that once served as a grain mill in Olde Towne Gaithersburg has been sold.
According to a report by Maryland Newsletters, a Highland, Maryland-based partnership has acquired Granary Row for $6.85 million. The 28,260 SF building is currently fully leased to multiple tenants, including popular restaurant South House Garden, an Urgent Care facility, a church, and Winkler Automotive.
Originally constructed by the Bowman Brothers, the mill operated along the railroad tracks into the 1960s before closing, according to the report by Maryland Newsletters. It was later transformed into the retail center known today, eventually being sold to real estate developer Doug Jemal. The recent transaction sees the property passed on to Prime 1, LLC, led by Sekar Venkatesh.
